Panama Baseball Semifinals Set With Bocas del Toro, Colón, Chiriquí and Panamá Oeste

What Happened

The Panamanian Baseball Federation has set the schedule for the 2026 National Major Baseball Championship semifinals, with the final four teams set for best-of-seven series beginning Sunday, April 12, at 7:00 p.m.

The matchups pit defending champion Bocas del Toro against Colón, while Panamá Oeste will face Chiriquí in the other semifinal. Both series begin simultaneously, launching the next stage of Panama’s top amateur baseball tournament.

Opening Games and Venues

In the Bocas del Toro-Colón series, the first two games will be played at Calvin Byron Stadium in Changuinola, home of the Tortugueros. At the same time, Chiriquí will host Panamá Oeste at Kenny Serracín Stadium to open a series that followed a dramatic path through the previous round.

The schedule follows the 2-3-2 format, which gives the higher-seeded team the first two home games, then shifts three games to the opposing venue, before potentially returning for games six and seven if needed.

Middle Stretch of the Series

Game 2 is set for Monday, April 13, at the same stadiums. After a rest day on Tuesday, April 14, the series move to the other side of the bracket. From Wednesday, April 15, through Friday, April 17, Colón will host Bocas del Toro at the new Roberto Mariano Bula Stadium, while Panamá Oeste will play Chiriquí at Mariano Rivera Stadium in La Chorrera.

Those games will be decisive for either team looking to gain control of the series before the final stretch. With both semifinals featuring regional rivals and recent playoff momentum, the matchups carry added intensity as teams chase a place in the championship round.

Potential Closing Games

If either semifinal reaches six games, Saturday, April 18, is reserved as a rest day before Game 6 on Sunday, April 19, in Changuinola and David. If a series goes the distance, Game 7 is scheduled for Monday, April 20, back at Calvin Byron Stadium and Kenny Serracín Stadium.

The semifinals bring together Bocas del Toro, Colón, Chiriquí and Panamá Oeste after a demanding playoff run that has narrowed the field to the last four contenders in Panama’s flagship baseball competition.
