Ifarhu details key document for 2026 scholarship applicants in Panama

What Happened

The Institute for the Training and Use of Human Resources, known as Ifarhu, reminded students preselected in the 2026 General Scholarship Contest that the socioeconomic affidavit is a mandatory requirement to complete the scholarship process.

The form must be presented during the requirements delivery phase, making it one of the final steps before applicants can advance in the selection process. Ifarhu also outlined how students and guardians can download the document from its official online portal.

How to Get the Affidavit

To obtain the socioeconomic affidavit, students must enter the Ifarhu website and go to the “Concurso General de Becas” section. From there, they should choose the “Declaración Jurada Socioeconómica” option, download the file and print it at no cost.

The institution urged students and their guardians to complete the process ahead of time to avoid delays when they are required to submit documents. The affidavit is part of the formal verification process used in scholarship applications, helping confirm the economic situation of the household.

Where and When the First Delivery Phase Begins

Ifarhu said the first in-person delivery phase will begin on Monday, April 20, in Herrera and Los Santos, as well as in Coclé, specifically in the districts of Aguadulce and Penonomé. The rollout is part of the staged process for receiving paperwork from preselected students.

The scholarship process covers students at the primary, premedia, middle school and university levels. Beneficiaries are expected to verify the date and location assigned to them according to their school through Ifarhu’s official channels.

Why the Requirement Matters

The socioeconomic affidavit is a central part of the scholarship application because it supports the review of each student’s family and financial situation. For many applicants, having the document ready in advance can help avoid missing deadlines or having to repeat part of the procedure.

As the 2026 scholarship contest moves into the document-collection stage, Ifarhu’s instructions give families a clear path to follow. The process begins online and continues in person, combining digital access with regional delivery points across the country.
