Ifarhu Delays First PASE-U 2026 Disbursement While Waiting for Meduca Registry

What Happened

The Instituto para la Formación y Aprovechamiento de los Recursos Humanos (Ifarhu) announced that the first payment for PASE-U 2026 has been delayed because it is still awaiting the official list of registered students from the Ministry of Education (Meduca). Ifarhu said the disbursement will occur once it completes a cleanup of its database of former beneficiaries and integrates new students according to Meduca’s official records.

Why the Delay

Ifarhu attributed the hold-up to the need to reconcile and depurate beneficiary records before releasing funds. The institute must ensure that its beneficiary database aligns with Meduca’s registry of students enrolled for the 2026 school year, a step Ifarhu says is necessary to accurately target payments.

Transition to ACH Bank Transfers

Alongside the explanation for the delay, Ifarhu announced a progressive nationwide rollout of payments via ACH (bank credit transfers) for all beneficiaries. The move aims to reduce the reliance on physical checks, which the institution described as generating high operational and logistical costs.

Ifarhu said this electronic accreditation system is expected to speed not only the first disbursement but also subsequent payments for the second and third trimesters. The institute added that it will soon inform beneficiaries about the availability of the bank accreditation system and provide steps for receiving funds electronically.

What This Means for Beneficiaries

Beneficiaries awaiting PASE-U funds should expect a short delay while Ifarhu completes its data reconciliation with Meduca. The transition to ACH transfers could reduce waiting times and the risks and costs associated with issuing physical checks, but it will require beneficiaries to follow the forthcoming instructions from Ifarhu to receive payments electronically.

Next Steps and Expectations

Ifarhu will notify the public when the clean-up process is finished and when the ACH accreditation system is available. For now, the timing of the first PASE-U payment depends on the completion of database depuration and the integration of the official Meduca enrollment records. Beneficiaries should monitor Ifarhu communications for guidance on how to enroll for electronic payments.
