Why It Matters
The Agroferias are part of a familiar government food distribution channel that brings agricultural products closer to consumers in different provinces and comarcas. By rotating sales points across urban and rural areas, the program gives families access to basic goods without having to travel far.
The requirement to show a cédula helps organize purchases and identify buyers at each location. With sales set for two consecutive days, residents in several regions of Panama can plan ahead to attend their nearest fair early in the day.
