# Panama's Fiscal Lottery Enters Final Days for Filing Invoice Envelopes

## What Happened

The General Directorate of Revenue has confirmed that the collection phase for envelopes containing invoices for the first drawing of the Regional Fiscal Lottery will end on Friday, May 15, 2026. All authorized collection boxes across the country will be removed at the same time, so participants must deposit their envelopes before the deadline.

The fiscal lottery is designed to encourage consumers to request invoices for their purchases and to keep those receipts for a chance to win cash prizes. The current edition is moving quickly toward its first regional drawing, with public raffles scheduled to begin next week.

## Rules for Eligible Envelopes

Participation requires strict compliance with the established format. Each envelope must contain at least five invoices issued between March 15 and May 15, 2026. Only white envelopes or manila paper envelopes are allowed, and they must be letter size or smaller.

Decorated envelopes, oversized envelopes, and those with stickers or other eye-catching objects will not be accepted. On the outside, each envelope must clearly show the participant’s full name, ID number, home address, email address, and phone number.

## Prize Structure by Region

The Ministry of Economy and Finance said each of the four participating regions will have its own drawing and will distribute $110,000 in prizes. That brings the total prize pool to $440,000 across all regions.

Each region will award 25 prizes: five prizes of $10,000, ten prizes of $5,000, and ten prizes of $1,000. A participant may win only one prize in each regional drawing.

## Schedule and Collection Points

The public drawings will take place at shopping centers in different parts of the country. The first regional drawing is set for Tuesday, May 19 at Los Andes Mall in the Panama region. The second will follow on Thursday, May 21 at Westland Mall in Arraiján, covering Panama Oeste, Colón and Darién.

The third drawing is scheduled for Tuesday, May 26 at Federal Mall in David for Bocas del Toro, Chiriquí and Veraguas. The final regional drawing will be held on Thursday, May 28 at Paseo Central in Chitré for Herrera, Los Santos and Coclé.

Until Friday, residents can still drop off envelopes at authorized points in the capital and in the interior. In Panama City, locations include Albrook Mall, Altaplaza, Towncenter, Soho Mall, Megamall and Los Pueblos. Other active points include Plaza Terronal, Colón 2000 and Santiago Mall, along with the venues designated for the upcoming drawings.

## Why It Matters

The fiscal lottery has become a tool for strengthening tax compliance while giving shoppers an incentive to save invoices. With the deadline only days away, the final collection period is the last chance for participants to qualify for the first drawing of the year.
