# Lynk & Co opens new Costa del Este showroom and launches plug-in hybrid models in Panama

## What Happened

Lynk & Co opened a new showroom in Costa del Este, expanding its footprint in Panama and giving the brand a more prominent space to present its line of electrified vehicles. The launch event, branded “The Plug-in Shift,” also marked the official introduction of the Lynk & Co 01 PHEV and Lynk & Co 08 PHEV to the Panamanian market.

The new location is part of the company’s broader push to position itself around modern mobility, connectivity and a customer experience that goes beyond a traditional car display. The showroom was designed as an experiential space that combines design, technology and lifestyle in one setting.

## A Strategy Backed by Grupo Pérez Holding

The expansion is being driven by Grupo Pérez Holding, which is supporting Lynk & Co’s growth in Panama as the brand’s exclusive distributor in the country. During the opening, Francisco Altieri Pérez, president of Grupo Pérez Holding, described the move as more than the addition of a new brand, framing it as a long-term bet on the future of mobility in Panama.

The company is positioning the showroom as part of a larger customer-focused model that includes sales, technology and after-sales service. That approach reflects a broader trend in the automotive market, where brands are increasingly competing not only on vehicle features but also on the buying and ownership experience.

## Plug-in Hybrid Technology Takes Center Stage

The event highlighted Lynk & Co’s EM-P plug-in hybrid system, which allows drivers to use fully electric mode for urban trips while keeping the flexibility of a combustion engine for longer routes. The technology is aimed at reducing fuel consumption in city traffic and easing concerns about charging infrastructure on extended drives.

According to the company, the system is intended to remove the trade-off many consumers face between efficiency, performance and electrification. That message is especially relevant in Panama, where plug-in hybrid vehicles are gaining attention as more drivers look for alternatives that balance range and practicality.

## Two SUV Models for Different Buyers

The brand introduced two models during the launch. The Lynk & Co 01 PHEV is presented as a daily-use SUV with 75 kilometers of electric range and up to 750 kilometers of combined range. It delivers a maximum combined output of 276 horsepower and up to 525 Nm of torque, and it holds a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating.

The Lynk & Co 08 PHEV targets the premium segment with a larger battery, 200 kilometers of electric range and up to 1,100 kilometers of total range. It produces 347 horsepower and up to 580 Nm of torque, and comes with Nappa leather and a Harman-Kardon sound system with 23 speakers.

## Service Network and After-Sales Support

Beyond the new showroom and vehicle launch, the company emphasized its after-sales structure in Panama. Grupo Pérez Holding and Talleres Tambor announced a strategic alliance to strengthen service coverage with specialized bays in key locations across the country.

The move is meant to support technical service, parts availability and international service standards, all of which are crucial for the adoption of newer plug-in hybrid technology. With the new showroom and service network, Lynk & Co is making a clear push to establish itself as a serious player in Panama’s evolving auto market.
