# Plaza Amador Holds Top Spot Again as LPF Playoff Race Tightens

## What Happened

Plaza Amador stayed atop the LPF Power Rankings for a third straight week as the regular season moved into its final stretch with only three matchdays remaining. The latest round reshuffled several places after key results across the league, especially in the Western and Eastern conferences.

The rankings reflect both recent form and the growing pressure of a closing table in which playoff places and semifinal positions are still being decided.

## Movers at the Bottom and Middle

Herrera FC remained last after falling to Veraguas United, a defeat that leaves it with a steep climb and little margin left to recover. Sporting San Miguelito dropped one spot after extending its winless run to five matches, even after salvaging a draw against Umecit FC.

Club Deportivo Universitario moved up after back-to-back wins, including a 2-0 result over league leader Unión Coclé. San Francisco slipped slightly despite drawing 0-0 with CAI in the La Chorrera derby, while Árabe Unido took the biggest hit in the rankings after a 4-0 loss to Tauro FC.

## Teams Rising Toward the Top

Veraguas United was one of the week’s biggest climbers, bouncing back from two straight defeats to reclaim first place in the West. Tauro FC also surged after one of the strongest performances of the round, beating Árabe Unido by four goals and continuing a run that has produced only one defeat in its last six matches.

Umecit FC remained in the upper half of the table after rescuing an important draw, though the result carried less weight because it came against a struggling Sporting side. CAI and Unión Coclé held steady in the middle of the pack, both still positioned to challenge for a favorable finish.

## Plaza Amador Keeps Its Edge

Plaza Amador continues to set the pace after stretching its unbeaten run to 10 matches. The bicampeón has combined goals, defensive stability and momentum at exactly the right time as it pushes toward a fifth consecutive final.

Alianza FC stayed second after drawing 1-1 with Plaza Amador in a match it believed it could win. That result set up a major upcoming test against Tauro, a game that could influence both the standings and the rankings heading into the final weeks.

With the LPF entering its closing phase, every point now carries extra weight. The battle for playoff positions and semifinal control is tightening, and the final three rounds are shaping up to decide much of the postseason picture.
