Panamanian authorities have dismantled a criminal organization that allegedly used taxis to distribute narcotics across Chiriquí Province, arresting eight people, seizing 10 vehicles, and confiscating $2,000 in cash in what officials describe as the largest anti-drug operation in the region in recent months.

The operation, codenamed “Delivery,” was carried out jointly by the National Police and the Drug Prosecutor’s Office in Bugaba, a district in Chiriquí near Panama’s western border. Deputy Commissioner Roberto Monterrey of the National Police said 12 raids were executed during the proceedings, during which authorities located several cars allegedly used to transport narcotics.
