# Atevo Cup set for five title clashes in El Colegio de Panamá

## What Happened

The Atevo Cup will crown its five champions this Sunday with five consecutive finals in the Sub-8, Sub-10, Sub-12, Sub-14 and Sub-16 categories. All matches will be played at Eagles Stadium in El Colegio de Panamá, turning the venue into the center of youth football action for the day.

The tournament’s final stage brings together several of Panama’s most competitive academy sides, many of them arriving unbeaten or with strong playoff runs behind them. Across the age groups, the finalists include Inter, CAI, Barcelona Soccer School, Costa del Este, Plaza Amador, New West and Brunet Hay.

## Sub-8 and Sub-10 Open the Day

The first championship match will feature Inter against CAI in Sub-8. Inter finished the regular phase with a perfect record of five wins in five matches and a goal difference of +21. It carried that momentum into the semifinals with a 5-2 victory over Academia Suárez.

CAI reached the final as runner-up in the standings with 10 points from three wins, one draw and one loss. Its only defeat came against Inter, which won their fourth-round meeting 4-1 behind a Dylan Figueroa double and goals from Tomás López and Nicolás González.

Sub-10 will bring another unbeaten showdown, this time between Barcelona Soccer School and CAI. Barcelona Soccer School topped Group A with five wins in five matches, then beat Academia Suárez 3-1 in the quarterfinals and Atlético de Madrid 3-0 in the semifinals.

CAI also arrived with a flawless campaign, leading Group B with five wins from five. It defeated Academia Costa del Este 3-0 in the quarterfinals before edging Plaza Amador 3-2 in a tight semifinal.

## Sub-12 and Sub-14 Bring High-Scoring Rivalries

The Sub-12 final will pit Academia Costa del Este against Plaza Amador. Costa del Este finished top of Group A with 13 points and advanced through the bracket by beating Inter on penalties and then overcoming Barcelona Soccer School 3-1, helped by a brace from Manuel Arias and a goal from Luis Valencia.

Plaza Amador was even more dominant in the group stage, ending with 15 points from five matches. It beat Atlético de Madrid 2-0 in the quarterfinals and Atlético Panamá Viejo 3-1 in the semifinals, with goals from Víctor Merchant, Luis Madrano and Fabián Suárez.

The two sides already met during the group stage, when Plaza Amador won by a narrow margin thanks to a goal from André Franco.

In Sub-14, Academia New West will face Plaza Amador. New West emerged as the surprise finalist after finishing fourth in its group with eight points. It then defeated Águilas Azules 4-2 in the quarterfinals and eliminated CAI 1-0 in the semifinals through a goal by José Muñoz.

Plaza Amador reached the final unbeaten, with six wins in the group stage. It advanced past Suárez 4-0 in the quarterfinals and Panama City FC 2-0 in the semifinals, with scores from Roderic Rodríguez and Nicolás Suárez. Plaza had already beaten New West in the group phase by the slimmest of margins.

## Sub-16 Closes the Championship Day

The final match of the day will be the Sub-16 showdown between Academia Brunet Hay and Academia Costa del Este. Brunet Hay finished third in its group with seven points, then eliminated Panama City FC on penalties before knocking out defending champion Umecit 1-0 in the semifinals thanks to a goal from José Amaya.

Costa del Este entered the final after finishing second with 10 points. It cruised past Barcelona Soccer School 4-0 in the quarterfinals and then defeated CAI in extra time in the semifinals, with Mario Rivera scoring twice. The two teams played a lively 4-4 draw during the group stage, setting up a final that could go either way.
